SKETHZ has no intention whatsoever to use any data collected on members for any purposes apart from the organization of our events. We do not share private information with third parties and will not use information you give us for registering for our events for anything but the event you register for. We only collect data when you register for our events or when you visit our website. Data gathered while on our website is anonymized, is never shared and does not leave ETH servers (so no Google Analytics or anything like that). Feel free to read through this privacy policy, but that is the main gist of it.

To best serve your needs, we collect the following types of information when you visit our website.
Personal information
We do not collect any personal information while you visit our website, unless you register for one of our events. Exact data depends on the event, but can include:
- Name
- Email Address
- Sex
- Age
- Study Program
- University
- Chess rating
Only the first two of these are always required for registering, the other fields are optional and do not have to be submitted in order to participate in our events. We do not use this information for any other purposes than the event you register for.
After an event, we publish the scores of the events together with some pictures. This score includes your name and you may be present in the pictures. If you do not want this, you can send an email to us and we will remove your information.
Automatically collected information
We collect anonymized data on how our users visit our website, such as your IP address, location, operating system and device identifiers. This data is only used internally to keep track of the amount of visitors, is stored on ETH servers and is not send to third parties.

Collected information is only used to organize our events and to monitor the traffic on our website.
Length of time personal information is stored
We store the registration form for up to 1 year. The results of a tournament and pictures are public and are therefore available indefinitely.

We do not share your information with third parties. Only the result of a tournament together with pictures are made available online.

We do our best to keep your private information secure and safe. Most of your personal information is encrypted and is therefore protected from being accessed by outside users. However, data leaks and malicious attacks do happen. Please understand that while we do our best to protect your data, providing your personal information is at your own risk.
Ability to decline to provide personal information
You can, of course, decline to disclose your personal information to us. However, in order to participate in our events which require registration, we require at least a name and email address. All other information is optional, and at the user’s request we remove pictures and results published online.
